The Selection Strategic Alliance Partner in Semiconductor Manufacturing Industry Based on Grey System and DEA

Semiconductors industry is a young and key aspect in the market of many countries. Technology always changes and develops to meet the high requirement of electronics devices. Thus, this paper studies the selection strategy alliance partner in semiconductor manufacturing industry. The real data of 20 companies is collected from 2011 to 2014. To analyses before and after alliance, we integrated forecasting model GM (1 1) and data envelopment analysis. The empirical results showed that Samsung (DMU2) should implement strategic alliance with Intel (DMU1), TSMC (DMU3), Qualcomm (DMU4), IBM (DMU14) and NEC (DMU18). This study proposed an effective model allow organizations find out the right partners and improves the efficiency of their operations.
