摘要

This paper presents an extended impedance-based fault location formulation for unbalanced distributed generation systems. In recent years, distributed generation has become an efficient and economical alternative to produce energy. However, the high penetration of distributed generators changes the magnitude and direction of the fault currents affecting the accuracy of impedance-based fault location methods. This work proposes a extended mathematical formulation based on the apparent impedance for synchronous based DG active distribution systems. The proposed formulation was implemented in Matlab and had it's performance assessed on a test distribution feeder. Test results show the methods robustness for several fault conditions and potential for real-life applications.
