摘要

Reduction of residual crosslinking byproducts from high-voltage cables is a necessary and time consuming step in the cable manufacturing process. New crosslinking polyethylene insulation formulation technology has enabled a 50% reduction in the time of the degassing process of a manufactured 110kV cable. The technology has also enabled a significant extension in the extrusion run length between extrusion clean-outs. This new material holds significant promise for cable applications at >220kV and for submarine applications.
