Formulation of Superior Solution Set Search Problem and Proposal of Firefly Algorithm-based Optimization Method

In this paper, we formulate a new definition for single-objective optimization problem and propose Firefly Algorithmbasedoptimization method for the formulated problem. The formulated problem requires a set of local optima withevaluation values better than a certain level and the distances between each local optimum are farther than a certaindistance (the superior solution set). In other words, the superior solution set meets the aspiration level of the user andhas diversity. In addition, the Firefly Algorithm-based optimization method was developed based on an analysis of theFirefly Algorithm search mechanism. Finally, the performance of the developed method was verified by comparisonof developed method with Firefly Algorithm.
