Frequently Misunderstood Wind Provisions

This session is designed to assist practicing engineers to correctly implement the wind load provisions of ASCE 7, Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures. Current building codes require all buildings and structures to be designed to resist wind loads. In most of the United States, design wind loads are determined in accordance with the applicable provisions of ASCE 7. Recommendations toward avoiding errors in wind design are presented in this review.
