Application of electrochemical methods for the investigation of corrosion phenomena in automotive brake discs

Corrosion of grey cast iron employed for the production of braking systems is becoming an important issue in the automotive sector. A better understanding of corrosion phenomena in the breaking systems is very important in order to develop protection strategies in order to limit corrosion related issues including stiction between the breaking pads and the grey cast iron discs.
