The Role of the Investigation Reporting Module in Environmental Emergency Management in Abu Dhabi Emirate

The OACIS IRM gathers environmental emergency investigation data that allow analyses that provide insights for emergency management program implementation. These analyses allow EAD to target areas with high environmental impacts, to focus environmental emergency response to specific incidents that occur more frequently, to ensure that EAD makes effective, consistent, and timely decisions with respect to emergency management. The IRM is applicable across a full spectrum of potential incidents, hazards, and impacts, regardless of size, location or complexity. It improves the incident investigation in a variety of incident management activities. It provides a common standard for overall incident investigations. It compiles, tracks and analyzes data from multiple sources ensuring that all emergency responders have the same understanding and awareness of incident status and information when conducting the investigation. Together with OACIS, IRM allows emergency management program managers in Abu Dhabi to focus on priority areas that can have greater impact and results. Specifically, they provide strategic guidance and timely and appropriate resource management during preparedness, response, and recovery efforts.
