ARE YOU LEVERAGING UNIT LEVEL TRACEABILITY FULLY?

Do you use unit level traceability (ULT) in your manufacturing operations? Is it leveraged to its real potential? Can incremental expansion of unit identification and tracking capability far outweigh the original drivers for implementing ULT? This presentation examines how ULT is quietly making huge impacts to manufacturers far beyond counterfeit protection, regulatory compliance, and tracking of product through the supply chain. How long is your product development cycle, from first engineering product to full production? If you are not leveraging ULT, you are likely missing a tremendous opportunity to shorten your research and development engineering data turns and become a leader in new product introductions. Are you able to recognize variations in your product DURING production and use that data to reject, recover, or enhance those units as early as possible? Would your company place value on lean manufacturing; increasing the effective use of your capital equipment, shortening processing time, or identifying and resolving issues before final test or customer complaints? How quickly can you identify root cause and ensure appropriate product quarantine based on customer issues?
