Esters are the only base stocks to fulfill the request for renewable content 4. Differentiation of ester based lubricants is possible via technical performance criteria 5. Advantages of ester base stocks are numerous: Solvency Oxidative Stability Low Temperature Behavior Flash Point Low Volatility Intrinsic Lubrication etc. 6. One can design esters towards a defined application profile.
