Expansive soil from a site was used as test materials to learn the law of the development of the fracture of the expansive soil in different climates. It is obtained that the fissures of the swelling soil have developed rapidly in the arid climate. With prolonged periods of drought, the size of the soil fissures maintains stable after fast growth, but develops as the arid climate change. The logarithmic resistance ratio goes down in precipitation climate, but it spreads again as the fissures develops in drought climate after rain. As for stable soil model, the increasing number of cycles of alternating rain or shine makes secondary soil fractured, and the soil surface is more broken. The maximum fracture width and depth does not change a lot.
