In the paper spectroscopic properties of aluminosilicate glasses co-doped with Nd~(3+)/Yb~(3+) were investigated. Strong and wide emission in the 1μm region obtained by optimization of Nd~(3+) → Yb~(3+) energy transfer corresponding to the superposition of optical transitions Nd~(3+):~4F_(3/2) → ~4I_(11/2) and Yb~(3+):~2F_(5/2) → ~2F_(7/2) (Yb~(3+)) was observed. The construction of double - core, double-clad optical fiber with cores manufactured from the aluminosilicate glass (co-doped with 1st core-0.15Nd_2O_3, 2nd core - 0.15Nd_2O_3/0.45Yb_2O_3 mol%) was developed. Comparative analysis of shape of luminescence (λ_p=808 nm) obtained in bulk glass (0.15Nd_2O_3/0.45Yb_2O_3) and ASE in double-core optical fiber clearly shows significant differences in luminescent properties. Mechanisms influencing differences in the shape of luminescence of fabricated glass and optical fiber were also discussed.
