Scientific and reasonable black-start scheme is significant to restoration of a power system from a complete blackout. On the basis of the IAHP (standing for improved analytic hierarchy process) and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, a new method to assess back-start scheme is proposed in this paper. First of all, the IAHP is used to determine the index weight. After that, trapezoidal membership function is used to determine remark degrees of indexes and then get the fuzzy evaluation matrices. Finally, the subsets of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation are ranked by the degree of excellence. The IAHP doesn't need consistency verification, so its efficiency will be higher than ordinary method. Fuzziness of evaluation indexes is considered by the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, so that evaluation result will be closer to engineering application. The effectiveness of the proposed method is tested by the evaluation results of black-start path for a real power grid.
