The system has a data input module to which is fed qualitative information related to the machine condition. Information in the form of digitalized photographs, drawings, charts etc. or tables of specific factorare displayed, e.g. build up of rust, vibration or noise, for which the machine operator can enter his subjective assessment, (good, passable) into an evaluator which then provides an indication of the remaining serve life of the machine.
