Signal processing methods for fault diagnostics in engineering systems

The paper gives a short introduction to the problem of signal processing for fault diagnostics in engineering systems. The main practical approaches to fault detection and isolation (FDI) are presented and discussed. Commonly used methods of signal processing in the FDI systems are described and briefly characterized.
