MIMO radar systems offer potential in many applications and have been studied intensely in recent years. Waveform design is of particular interest because some applications require low cross-correlation between the waveforms emitted from different apertures. In this paper, we consider how multiple waveforms emitted and received by a linear MIMO array result in different effective waveforms as a function of array angle. For each effective waveform, there is a unique range autocorrelation function, which is the zero-Doppler cut of the ambiguity function. We derive some relationships related to this angle-dependent range ambiguity and demonstrate some simulated examples.
