The corrosion behavior of carbon steel and stainless steel in the presence and absence of Monoethanolamine (MEA) in CO_2 saturated NaCI solution under simulated flow conditions was studied. Corrosion conditions were simulated in rotating cage and the corrosion rates were determined by mass loss measurements. Surface analytical techniques (SEM and EDS) were used to analyze the corrosion product formed on the metal surface. Presence MEA significantly decreased the corrosion rate.
