The authors investigated the possibility to create porous materials based on silicates andaluminosilicates using the charge of aluminosilicate ligaments based on liquid glass for silicates as a bindingcomponent, as well as modified clays for aluminosilicates. The characteristics of the porous materials wereregulated both by adjusting the size and shape of initial particles and by introducing an optimum amount ofthe binder with a particular composition. It has been established that inorganic binders not only fulfill theirfunctions at the shaping stage, but also affect the formation of the phase composition of the ceramic duringsintering, defining a number of properties of the product. The authors have identified the peculiarities ofchemical transformations and structure formation during thermal processing, providing directed regulation ofthe properties of porous materials produced from traditional aluminosilicate and silicate raw materials using avariety of binder materials.
