On-Board Computers (OBC) are more and more usingintegrated systems on-chip (SOC) that embedprocessors running from 50MHz up to severalhundreds of MHz, and around which are plugged somededicated communication controllers together withother Input/Output channels.For ground testing and On-Board SoftWare (OBSW)validation purpose, a representative simulation of thesesystems, faster than real-time and with cycle-truetiming of execution, is not achieved with current purelysoftware simulators.Since a few years some hybrid solutions where put inplace ([1], [2]), including hardware in the loop so as toadd accuracy and performance in the computersoftware simulation.This paper presents the results of the works engaged byThales Alenia Space (TAS-F) at the end of 2010, thatled to a validated HW simulator of the UT699 by mid-2012 and that is now qualified and fully used inoperational contexts.
