To investigate mechanical characteristics, the untrained triaxial compressive test with strain control triaxial apparatus was carried out on the soft soil in the Suzhou Metro Line 4. The article was observed the soft soil characteristics of deformation and strength under different consolidation conditions and stress paths. The test was obtained the moisture content and the relationship between the density and moisture content and the depth of soft soil. The density increases with the increase of sampling depth; however, the moisture content will decrease with the increase of sampling depth. The relationship between sampling depth and density shows nonlinear. In the test, The C value of the shear strength of soft soil changed very small, while the cp value increases with the increase of depth, and the cp value is small under the conditions of common consolidation test, but stress path affects its value. The test gets accurate mechanical parameters and the stress-strain relationship of soft soil.
