Two-port ninety degree phase shift networks cause the magnitude of the output current to be directly proportional to the magnitude of the input voltage, and vice versa. This property is independent of the load impedance. Useful networks are described. Several applications of this principal are described including a temperature self-regulating soldering device, short circuit and overload protection and antenna array current distribution control.
