Groundwater in Jeju volcanic island, South Korea, is the major source of water supplyand more than 65% of total 5,000 wells are for agricultural purposes. This study estimatesthe impact of climate change on groundwater systems, especially for those wells used foragricultural water supply.The autocorrelation, cross-correlation, non-parametric Mann-Kendall trend test, and theSen’s slope estimator are used to investigate the relationship between groundwater level andprecipitation over the historical period 2001-2010. The 115 groundwater monitoring networksoperated by Jeju Local Government were used as the data source. The Mann-Kendall trendtest and Sen’s slope estimator are also used to detect the spatial and temporal changes inprecipitation under RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5 scenarios (projected by the Korean MeteorologicalAdministration) for 2011-2100 with the two pre-industrial runs.
