The massively separated flows past the tandem cylinders with spacing of 1.435 diameters are simulated using the improved delayed detached eddy simulation based on two-equation shear stress transport model, coupled with a high-order adaptive dissipation scheme. The asymmetry in the gap region is simulated by non-zero angle of attack of 0.5 degrees and asymmetric quasi-laminar regions. In addition, the instantaneous flow snapshots indicate that the numerical methods in this article can successfully capture the small-scale structures and the near-field sound wave propagation from the cylinders and their wake.
