Based on an analysis to unique geographic distribution of Canadian population and road supply/demand, this paper attempts to outline a path forward for Canada to implement a road pricing scheme. A brief introduction to related concepts, such as traffic congestion and road pricing is provided first. Then a detailed review to existing road pricing models implemented worldwide is conducted. Lessons learned based on international experience and associated opportunities are considered in the development of a "best-fit" road pricing scheme for Canada. In this regard, a hybrid "Integrated/National/Area" model is recommended for road pricing in Canada.
