This article presents a taxonomy approach supporting representation of digital I&C protection systems, in PRA. It is based on a macroscopic point of view, an architectural model and a failure model and focuses on failure propagation. The first step is a hierarchical view, from the system level to basic component level. The example of digital I&C architecture supporting the article is presented in part 2. The corresponding failure model is presented in part 3. Parts 4 to 7 present the elements of taxonomy at various levels of the architecture example. Part 8 describes the assessment of the failure propagation. The work summarized here is part of a consensus document from the OECD/WGRISKS/DIGREL working group to be published soon, that presents all these elements in more detail.
