Mobile Peer Management in Wireless P2P Resource Sharing System

摘要

The common characteristics of peer-to-peer (P2P) overlay networks and wireless multi-hop network, such as self-organization, decentralization, hop-by-hop message transmission mode and high degree of dynamicity, lead to research of operating wired P2P applications on wireless multi-hop networks. A peer location management mechanism was proposed to address the effect of peer mobility on P2P resource sharing system in a two-tier Wireless Mesh Network (WMN). A manager router which assigned to each mobile peer takes the responsibility of peer location, reduces deletion and republishing operations for indexes of shared resources due to the movements of peers. The simulation results show peer location management mechanism is effective in decreasing message overhead and increasing accurate ratio of searches in P2P resources sharing system with high churn rates.
