A Study on the Synergistic Relationship between Lexical Structure and Word Frequency, Polysemy and Synonym in Modem Chinese

In this study, the concept of structural complexity was introduced to classify the level of Chinese vocabulary structure. Based on Lancaster Corpus of Mandarin Chinese, the econometric method was adopted to explore the synergistic relationship between Chinese lexical structure and word frequency, Polysemy and Synonym, and to verify the relevant theoretical assumptions and mathematical models. The results show that there is a reverse dependency relationship between Chinese lexical structure and word frequency, Polysemy and Synonym. The function model $y=Ax^{b}e^{-cx}$ is more accurate than $y=Ax^{-b}$ in fitting the observed data of word frequency, while the relationship between Polysemy, Synonym and lexical structure can be respectively described by the models $y=Ax^{b}$ and $y=Ax^{b}e^{cx}$.
