Broadband Communication over Powerline has attracted much attention due to the wide availability of powerlines. It is an alternative approach for high speed data, voice and video transmission to the end users by transmitting radio frequencies on existing electrical powerline channel solving the ‘last mile’ solution in developing countries like India. In this paper, powerline is modeled using ABCD matrix for measuring the transfer function. This paper presents the effect of varying the indoor powerline network topologies. The performance of the BPL system has been investigated with regard to the different number of branches, load impedances and line length in the frequency range from 0 MHz to 30 MHz. The simulation result has been carried out by using MATLAB. In this paper it is seen that the levels/position of notches and peaks in transfer functions are largely affected by varying the different parameters of a network. It is also seen that the phase responses also affected by varying the parameters of a topology. This paper also gives the detail analysis about the effect of channel capacity in relation to the number of branches and different load impedances. This results shows that the powerline communication channel has the ability to be used for broadband communication.
