Impact Strength for PM HIP - Properties of PM HIP Stainless Steels

For Duplex and Super Duplex grades UNS S32205 and UNS S32550/32505 updated tensile data are presented. Values are above the minimum requirements of industry standards and are in the same level as reported for conventionally manufactured materials. Charpy KV values have also been measured on Austenitic and Duplex/Super Duplex stainless steels and compared to typical levels found in conventional cast or cast-wrought manufactured material of the same grade. The effect of different oxygen levels in the PM HIP'd material is also presented. Measured mechanical property values on PM HIP'd material are isotropic and equal to or better than the values reported in data sheets by manufacturers of forged-bar products.
