Green energy resources are appreciated by department of energy. Large wind farms were built in Indiana after 2006 in three counties of Indiana. However, detailed analysis was not conducted in the past to study the influence of large wind farms over the rainfall patterns. This research presents an initial analysis conducted in the wind farm regions of Indiana using radar rainfall data. Wind farms in Indiana are located in the three counties namely White, Benton and Warren counties. These three counties are covered by Chicago radar. In total 9 storms were considered for this analysis. Four of them occurred during 2005 and five of them occurred during 2009. These two sets of data represented pre wind farm and post wind farm cases. Radar data with 0.5 angle sweep and 1.5 angle sweep were used together to study the pattern changes within the storm duration. In this analysis, a zone with wind farm counties and another zone with no wind farm counties were captured together and analyzed. This study showed minor changes which are not significant.
