摘要

Since the EPA developed rules for the control of Hg emissions from coal fired sources, Shaw has been working with coal fired utilities to help examine and comprehend the dynamics associated with the effective and economical reduction of Hg emissions. Over the past three years we have conducted fourteen (14) full scale trials as part of our study. These test trials were conducted on large utility boilers that range from 120MW to 880MW, and included various coal types including Bituminous, Sub-Bituminous and Lignite. Each individual boiler was configured with unique Air Pollution Control Devices (APCD), and these collective boilers represented various configurations which may or may not have been equipped with ESP, Bag House's, SCR's and FGD's. The results show various removal efficiency rates by coal type and system configuration. Data organized to illustrate economic valuation and comparison of different removal technologies. Detailed descriptions of approach design, system components, balance of plant factors and project time table.
