A high performance millimeter-wave antenna which is compatible with integrated circuits is a key technology for developing novel millimeter-wave systems. Actually several transmission lines such as a microstrip line and a slot line have been used as antenna feeders [1]. Another candidate as the antenna feeder is the vertical strip line [2], which consists of dieffectric substrate-supported metal strip inserted in a vertical mid-plane of the below cutoff parallel metal plate waveguide. This guide features no radiation at curved sections and discontinuities as well as low loss nature. With this in mind, a simple radiating element for a primary radiator has been proposed by using it at 60 GHz.
