Building a Sustainable Environment Strategies for MRT Station in Taiwan

This study is focused on the issue of how to establish the strategies of planning a MRT station based on the environmental planning's indexes. To reach sustainable development of environment, effective strategies should consider the integration between ecological planning and regional development, this local action plan that followed a 6-staged plan was an important approach towards environmental sustainability. Through the survey method of interview with stakeholders and questionnaire, we developed 4 indexes with 20 strategies. Applying a statistics method of Location Quotient (LQ) with main stakeholders, we built a framework of 13 strategic assessment for planning a MRT station based on these 4 indexes. According to the consequence, the strategic approach with this globally sustainable view will be coupled with the epochal mission of ecological, human and environmental symbiosis.
