ISO 55000 in Service Provider's Context

摘要

ISO 55000-Asset Management Standard in the Service Provider business adds a new dimension to the application of this standard compared to application within an organisation operating its own assets. An Organisation operating its own assets not only has full control of its assets but also the decisions that need to be made around these assets including asset lifecycle strategies, systems, people and processes etc. Because the organisation has control on the interactions that happen around the assets, factors like maturity and capability potential of the organisation do not play a primary role in the 'scope' of application of these standards. Even if an organisation outsources Asset Management activities the standards can be applied to a large extent from within the organisation. This Paper looks at case(s) where Asset Management Activities are outsourced to varied degrees and the Service provider tries to establish the Asset Management processes complying to ISO 55000.
