THE WALL SHEAR STRESS VECTOR: METHODS FOR CHARACTERISING TRULY DISTURBED FLOW

摘要

Metrics of "disturbed flow" currently used in haemodynamic studies cannot distinguish pulsatile and oscillatory unidirectional flows from multidirectional disturbed flow. Indices such as transWSS that allow this distinction, in combination with current metrics, give a better characterisation of flow and may lead to improved understanding of atherogenesis.
