摘要

We developed an effective approach for the bioremediation of atrazine in drinking water by encapsulating AtzA expressing recombinant E. coli in a porous polymer/silica matrix. The synergistic interaction between the porous silica and the cells allowed the adsorption and biodegradation of the atrazine. Atrazine degradation rates were close to values obtained with non-encapsulated cells, with rates being sustained for over four months.
