An experimental investigation of texture evolution during hightemperature compression of Mg-3Sn-2Ca (TX32) alloy containing0.4%Al using electron back scatter diffraction (EBSD) techniqueis reported. Isothermal uniaxial compression tests were performedin the temperature and strain rate ranges 300-500 °C and 0.0003-10 s~(-1) to examine the influence of processing conditions on thedynamic recrystallization (DRX) behavior and texture evolution.The onset of DRX during compression at low temperatures (300and 350 °C) and low strain rates (0.0003 and 0.001 s~(-1)) gave riseto a fine, partially recrystallized and necklaced grainmicrostructure, with the basal poles located at 15-30o from thecompressive direction although they were split. Specimensdeformed at temperatures higher than 450 oC resulted in a fullyrecrystallized microstructure and an almost randomcrystallographic texture. It is clear from Schmid factor analysisthat the contribution of pyramidal slip system is significant fordeformation at temperatures above 450 °C.
