In order to evaluate its potential bioenergy resources, the 280°C and 320°C volatiles of soybean straw were determined by TD-GC-MS. The main constituents of 280°C volatiles were acetic acid, 1,3-propanediamine, n-methyl-, acetaldehyde, hydroxy-, 2-cyclopenten-l-one, 2-hydroxy-, 2-propanone, 1-hydroxy-, 1-hydroxy-2-butanone, phenol, and so on. The main constituents of 320°C volatiles were acetic acid, phenol, 2-methoxy-, glycolaldehyde dimer, 2-propanone, 1-hydroxy-, 2-cyclopenten-l-one, 2-hydroxy-, 1-hydroxy-2-butanone, etc.
