Combined with the maintenance of old bridge deck pavement in expressway, the steel fiber reinforced full lightweight concrete (SFRFLC) composed with expanded-shale and lightweight sand was developed. The paper introduces the experiment of basic mechanical properties of SFRFLC affected by sand ratio, cement content, water to cement ratio and volume fraction of steel fiber. The cubic and axial compressive strength, the splitting and axial tensile strength as well as the flexural-tensile strength of SFRFLC were measured. The results show that there is the optimum value of cement content to ensure better workability of fresh concrete and larger strength of hardened concrete. All the strengths except flexural-tensile strength are little affected by the sand ratio, all the strengths are little affected by the water to cement ratio. The tensile strengths are more affected by the volume fraction of steel fiber. The reasonable mix proportions are proposed for the SFRFLC in grade CF30.
