Structural deterioration such as loss of fatigue life is one of the major problems for the long-term performance of infrastructures, and reinforced concrete (RC) beams are no exception. Primary causes of structural degradation include the corrosive action of the environment (moisture and/or air), repeated loading, and cracking. In this paper, a new method is proposed to model and predict the fatigue life of corroded RC beams subjected to fatigue loading. The method accounts for the time-dependent fatigue behavior of both the concrete and corroded steel bar. Numerical analyses based on two beams indicated that the proposed method is accurate enough to model and estimate the fatigue life of RC beams.
