The results show that amongst emissions form OGVs NOx is highest followed by SOx. Emissions from shipping movements in reduced time zone and emissions during hoteling mode from auxiliary engines are of comparable magnitude. Kolkata port should develop better operational management strategies to reduce emissions. AERMET the preprocessor to AERMOD captures the variability of meteorological variables over Kolkata. AERMOD will be simulated to understand the environmental impact of air pollutants from ships and to test potential emission control strategies.
