According to measurement results, the PN level inside train cars in the underground section was significantly lower than that on the ground section. In addition, measurement results show that the PM_(10) and PM_(2.5) levels inside the train cars in the underground section were significantly higher than those on the ground section. Particle size distributions inside train cars are seldom reported. Inside the train cars, the particle mass and number size distribution patterns were considerably different between trains traveling in the underground section and on the ground section, and on different traveling directions. Based on measurement results, the PM levels and their size distributions inside the train cars were significantly affected by the traveling environments.
