Environmental emissions have undergone a tectonic transformation during the first 10 years of the New Millennium, moving from compliance data that needed to be reported to regulators to financial data that needs to be managed to preserve and enhance profitability and competitiveness. This transformation will dramatically affect the role of the EHS professional, and will require these professionals to expand their skill set in important ways.
