摘要

This paper presents the results of the second phase of a multi-step research program to improve the ergonomic functions of the furniture, devices, and spaces of a vessel. In this phase, analysis and evaluation was conducted (based on current norms and evaluation methodologies) on the static working postures on board the Riverine Patrol & Supply Vessel (RPSV), designed and built by COTECMAR. This research is part of a program, entitled Human Centered Ship Design, initiated in 2008 by COTECMAR (the Science and Technology Corporation for the Development of the Naval, Maritime and Riverine Industries in Colombia). The purpose of the program is to integrate Human Factors into the design process of a vessel with improved conditions for operability, maintainability and habitability. In 2010, the results of the first phase (physical environment) were presented at the International Conference on Human Performance at Sea (HPAS) 2010. The second phase presented in this paper is on static working postures; the third and final phase will address mental workload on a vessel.
