In this paper, carbon woven fabric was oxygen plasmatreated to improve the wear properties of carbon/epoxy woven composites. The change of hydrophilic properties on the surface of carbon fiber due to the plasma treatment was investigated by measuring the contact angle before and after the oxygen plasma treatment. Wear tests were performed under dry condition on untreated and plasma-treated carbon/epoxy woven composites. The results showed that the plasma treatment of carbon fabric affected the wear properties of carbon/epoxy woven composites. Specifically, the friction coefficient and the wear loss of plasma-treated carbon/epoxy woven composites were lower than that of untreated carbon/epoxy woven composites.
