Reliable Bundle Transmission in Vanet with Node Failure

摘要

Ensuring reliable transmissions over a VANET is not easily achieved due to the unpredictable nature of the link connections and resulting transmission delays. Accordingly, this paper analyzes the effectiveness of the bundle protocol in improving the performance of VANET transmissions. In addition,a detcction and recovery scheme is proposed for resolving the connectivity problem caused by the temporary shut-down of the OBUs (on-board units) on each node. The simulation results confirm that the bundle protocol (BP) yields a significant improvement in the transmission performance of the VANET.
