This study investigated the effects of phenylpropionic acid and salicylic acid on growth and physiological responses of grape. Cutting seedlings of 'Beta' grape were used as material, which were planting in pots, and received different concentration allelochemicals. The results showed that phenylpropionic acid and salicylic acid (0.1, 1.0 and l0mM) treatments decreased plant height, stem diameter, shoot and root fresh weight. With the improvement of phenylpropionic acid and salicylic acid concentrations, net photosynthetic rate (Pn) decreased, Fo increased, FJFm and FJFn decreased. All this finding indicated that two allelochemicals damaged PS II reaction center, inhibited efficiency of primary light energy translation, reduced electron transport activity and decreased net photosynthetic rate.
