To obtain more accurate detection results of railway vehicle wheelset rim inside distance, wheelbase difference and diagonal difference, measurement error owning to wheelset profile is analyzed and described. Measurement model of bogie wheel alignment parameters in horizontal plane, which has the function of wheel profile error compensation, is set up. As the main measurement instrument, highprecision grating displacement sensors detect the profile of wheels, and send signals to computer for real-time recording the rim fluctuation, actual wheel center is calculated according to this curve. Detection result is compensated by software after wheel rim inside distance, wheelbase difference, as well as diagonal difference measurement. Measurement result shows this method can meet with the detecting requirement.
