Technological Regimes, Industry Evolution and RD Behavior of Multinational Corporation in China: the Case of Ericsson

The technological regime is an important theoretical tool for the studies on pattern of industry technological change. It also relates to the industry evolution and affects the formation of firm's technological strategies. China's telecommunication equipment industry has been one of the country's fastest-growing industries. In its development, the multinational corporations play a vital role through their R&D activities. The objective of this paper is to study the relationships among technological regimes, industry evolution and innovative strategy of firms. Based on this finding, it is possible to present a framework for analyzing the multinational corporation's R&D behavior in China. The case of Ericsson in China is taken as a case in point.
