The Effects of RD Investment and Industrial Agglomeration on Regional Innovation of Zhejiang

摘要

The paper utilizes spatial panel data model to analyze the regional innovation effect of Zhejiang during 2001-2008, using prefecture-level cities as measurement unit and the amount of the patent granted as a proxy for regional innovation. The results show that, there is significant effect of R&D investment and industrial agglomeration on Zhejiang regional innovation; regional diversified agglomeration is more conducive to regional innovation than professional agglomeration; knowledge space overflow is more obvious and has a positive role in promoting regional innovation; but the R & D personnel inputs has no significant impact on regional innovation. Finally, the paper proposes countermeasures.
