In the distribution network single phase fault location, travelling wave signal extraction with an effective is the premise of distribution network protection and traveling wave fault location. With the defect of traditional capacitor voltage transformer can't hinge the transient high-frequency signal transmission, a new method to Distribution network voltage wave Signal extraction, have been proposed. This article will mainly describe the first travelling wave signal detection, high-precision GPS synchronized clock signal generation, fault location calculation. This method can effectively extract the transient high-frequency signals; correctly reflect the primary side of specific frequency band characteristics of the voltage wave, a good solution to the problem of travelling wave protection or transient protection and the transient voltage travelling wave extraction in fault location.
